Lyrath Estate, Kilkenny

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel with its beautiful grounds and exceptional food, especially the steaks. The staff were attentive, going out of their way to ensure my stay was enjoyable. On the downside, the rooms could really use a refurbishment as they felt a bit dated. Also, the leisure facilities were not ideal, lacking in atmosphere and cleanliness during my visit.

The hotel has beautiful surroundings and the spa facilities were a highlight of my stay. However, the service was quite inconsistent and breakfast left much to be desired. While I appreciated the charming bar food, it felt like I was paying a premium for subpar dining experiences and a lack of attention to detail regarding my special occasion.

While the kids' club was a genuine highlight for our family, I was disappointed by the access to local attractions and the somewhat underwhelming exterior of the property. Overall, Lyrath is an excellent choice for family fun and relaxation, though a little more attention to the surroundings could enhance the experience further.
